Once again, we collaborated with the charter school, Christina Seix Academy in West Trenton. We are so very thankful for their support in staff and transportation.
We returned to Baldpate Mountain in Titusville, NJ for our 8th year of camp. We had a total of 13 campers this year. A myriad of graduate campers attended as junior counselors. Grad camper Tamar was our senior counselor, and grad camper Johnae Drumright was our chef!
We had fantastic guest speakers this year, including singer/songwriter, John Beacher, who taught us about writing lyrics. Artist Renee Egan, who taught us about Native American dream catchers and we made one! Photographer Cindy Fatsis, who brought props and spoke about creating art with a camera. Occupational therapist, Linda Peters, showed us how to sleep best for our bodies and gave a few campers pointers on their walking habits. President of the African American Chamber of Commerce of NJ, John Harmon, who gave the campers advice on how to meet someone with a firm handshake while looking in their eyes, and much more. We were all EARS with these most talented professionals, and grateful.
New friendships were made, all kinds of food groups were tried, we hiked the mountain, and all campers look forward to the monthly gatherings to come!
