2017 Campers' Graduation Trip to Lake Lure, NC
As a camper’s two-year commitment concludes, they depart for a week-long excursion to the mountains of North Carolina. They stay in old cabins at a retired Girl Scout camp and acclimate to this new and quite scary environment. They meet speakers who teach skills such as Tai Chi, bouldering, team building, fly fishing, pottery, and tubing. They visit nearby Chimney Rock Park where they hike through the mountain and stand beneath a waterfall. They also tour the Biltmore Estate and experience southern foods and hospitality.
Taking a leap of faith to travel in a van for 11 hours with their camp mates, and possibly the first time away from family, we stay true to our mantra of "try everything once".
